Looking for Guest Judges for Photo Hunt #6!
I have had an idea that I think many of you will like and support. Because of lack of time, I have decided to take on three Guest Judges for each Photo Hunt from here on out. Since we typically have 20 items for each hunt, myself and the three Guest Judges would each be responsible for choosing the favorites and posting polls for 5 items on the list. Each Photo Hunt will have three new Guest Judges. Each Guest Judge will be given author rights on this blog to post the items they are responsible for.
Sound like fun? If so, please leave your name and I will randomly draw the first three Guest Judges by March 1st!

I think that sounds like fun. But I would need help with the polls, not sure how to do that?
That’s a great idea, Kristi. I often marvel at the fact that you do all this by yourself! I’d be happy to do it (this time or next), if you send out some directions that tell me how.

I’d love to be a guest judge.
I’m too busy to help at the moment, but the idea is very good. One thing though: I think the judges should disqualified to criticize their OWN photos. I’ve found and will always be find it a very odd custom to pick ones own photos as favourites, don’t you.

I think that as photographers we can critique our own photos and judge whether they are quality/creative photos or not. Judges should be able to include a few of their own photos in situations where they think their photo is comparatively as good as the others.
Up to this point I have been the sole selector of all the Favorites for the first 5 Photo Hunt Challenges…… that’s more than 100 items/techniques! I have no shame for including a handful of my best photos in each Hunt if I think they warranted it.

I must say also that I disagree with Krisus comment !! I have many times voted my own pics for example in Two 4 Tuesday challenge simply because I like my pics so much and I’m definitely going to vote my pics and like them in future too !!!!
Thanks to those of you who indicated you would be willing to help pick favorites for Photo Hunt #6. I used a random number generator and numbers corresponded to the following people: Carly, Ang and Nukke. They will be the Guest Judges for Photo Hunt #6
Michelle, Samara and Jientje will be the Guest Judges for Photo Hunt #7 in April.

It’s not unfair to vote your own photos but beeing a judge AND a competitor at the same time ??? I strongly disagree with you all!
Kristi, this is your challenge and you make the rules. I understood when you were alone and did all the work by yourself. How about not making this favorite-system so laborious? How about trying to think something easier, something lighter system to do this+ how about asking quest judges from your other friends not taking part to this Challenge?

Nukke, This is unprecedented ! Not in any competition or challenge anyone can judge her own pictures ! Judges supposed to be NEUTRAL, CANDID. And this don’t mean that you shoudn’t like your own pics, of course you can vote your own pics but to judge your own pics that’s a different matter.

Please do not forget that that one of the main purposes of the Photo Hunt Challenges is to have FUN. Never have we given out any sort of prize and we never will, just photo recognition for good photography. If there were prizes involved I can see your point about it being biased or unfair to choose ones own photos, but in this case, I don’t think it really matters!! We are simply showcasing good photos from people who like to take pictures. As far as I know there isn’t a single professional photographer among us.
Also, for almost every item that has ever been on any list (100+), over 50% of the total participants’ photos were selected and showcased. I do not feel that having a few of my own good photos included in the long lists of good photos is that big of a deal.
