Favorite “Chocolate” Photo Hunt Entry

I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate.  When I was a child I LOVED chocolate, and soon found out that I was allergic to it.  At about the age of 9 my mouth would water when my family ate chocolate in-front of me.   Eventually I associated the smell of chocolate with the negative effects and was OK with others eating it around me.  This story does have a happy ending, because in the past few years I have been able to eat little bits of chocolate again!  Oh, now on to the important part, the voting! – Carly

Reminder about Considering Photos for the Favorites

We have several new participants for Photo Hunt #6 who are new to the rules so I  wanted to remind all participants that ONLY PHOTOS TAKEN DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2010 ARE CONSIDERED FOR FAVORITES.  If you included any photos from your archives ( two maximum are allowed), you must state that when you post the photo!!!

Looking for Guest Judges for Photo Hunt #6!

I have had an idea that I think many of you will like and support.  Because of lack of time, I have decided to take on three Guest Judges for each Photo Hunt from here on out.  Since we typically have 20 items for each hunt, myself and the three Guest Judges would each be responsible for choosing the favorites and posting polls for 5 items on the list.  Each Photo Hunt will have three new Guest Judges.  Each Guest Judge will be given author rights on this blog to post the items they are responsible for.

Sound like fun?  If so, please leave your name and I will randomly draw the first three Guest Judges by March 1st!

February is quickly coming to a close…….

I know I say this every month, but February has sped by really quickly for me.  I just looked at the calendar and realized we only have five days left in this very short month!!! That means I better step on it to get my Photo Hunt entry together.  How is everyone else doing???

I have started looking through the Participant Entries for Photo Hunt #5 and they are all great! I am so impressed with how everyone did.  I still have many more to go through but you can check my progress on Twitter.  I go through the galleries in order from when Links were entered into Mr Linky.  I plan to start posting the favorites within the next few days.  Stay tuned!

Photo Hunt #5 ~ Participant Entries

Can you believe December is already over? That means it is time for the participants of Photo Hunt #5~ December 2009 to post their results. If you completed Photo Hunt Challenge #5, please add your name/location and the permalink to your entry in Mr. Linky sometime by the end of the first week of Nov. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU INCLUDE YOUR POST PERMALINK NOT JUST YOUR BLOG URL. ( Example, my blog is http://www.sweetsauer.com but my permalink for PH#3 is http://www.sweetsauer.com/kristis_bliggitty_blog/2009/09/photo-hunt-challenge-3-my-results.html ) If I have to go searching for your Photo Hunt entry every time I visit your blog it takes me so much longer to go through and post my favorites. I will be going through all entries during the first week of January and will be posting my favorites throughout the month. A separate post will be dedicated to each item on the PH#5 list with a poll to vote for your favorite of each.

Did the month of December sneak up on anyone else besides me? It has been quite a busy month and I know several people have thought they may not be able to finish.  Hopefully there are still several of you with a collection of photos from the past month to use for Photo Hunt #5.  If not, get out there and start snapping!  I have yet to go through my own photos so it will be  somewhat of a surprise to even me what I will be posting on January 1st.  Stay tuned for the new post to go up where everyone can post the link to their results.

PS I will try to go through all the favorites from PH#4 and post the winners sometime this week!

Blog Makeover…..

Have you noticed the cool new design to this blog?? I have spent several hours over the past few days trying to give it a fresh, modern look while making it more user-friendly.  You may have noticed the cool sliding images banner.  So far I have been able to link the photos in the banner to info about the first 3 Photo Hunts (working on #4 and #5 now!).  I also went through all of the old Photo Hunts, compiled links to all the favorites and also compiled each of the winning photos from each of the photo hunts.  I plan to continue making changes to the blog so bear with me as I learn how to do everything as I go!

If you haven’t already played around, go ahead and try it now!

One more ?? before I start posting my faves….

How many of you that participated in Photo Hunt #4 desire that I continue to link each photo # in my faves to the photographer who took the photo? This is something that I have done for the first 3 Photo Hunts because I feel it is only right to give credit to the photographer who took the photo since we are keeping the voting somewhat “anonymous” otherwise.  I am asking because one participant recently made a comment that she didn’t even realize that I had linked the photos back to the photographers in the first place and wondered if maybe others didn’t realize I had linked them all either.  I rename every photo to start with the photographer’s name so if you scroll over each photo you can still see who the photographer is. If you guys are all okay with me just posting the photos without linking back to the photographers, we can get this show on the road much quicker! Linking is what takes most of the time.    If you like the way we have been doing it, please say so and tell me my time is worth it!

November Photo Hunt??

Some people have asked me if I know of a Photo Hunt happening anywhere for the month of November.  As of now, I do NOT know of one.  Please leave a comment if you know of a challenge happening this month!

I would love to be able to host a challenge every month but to be honest, it is just too much work.  I would be happy to accept any partners or guest hosts on this blog who want to be responsible for creating the list and posting all the favorites in the “off” months.  Let me know if you would be interested

In just a few days I will be creating the new post where everyone will link their entries for Photo Hunt #4.  I hope everyone had fun this month while out taking photos, I know this month’s list was somewhat of a challenge!

A Quick Update…

Hey everyone, sorry it is taking me so long to get My Favorite photos posts up….  I have had very little free time the past few weeks.  I promise I will finish posting them all before Photo Hunt Challenge #4 is announced on October 1st!

I also have a favor to ask of all of you who refer their friends to this site to view all the photos and to vote.  Remember when I asked for your thoughts and feedback after we finished Photo Hunt #1 last April? (Posted on my personal blog, sweetsauer.com).  I just wanted to remind everyone that the purpose of the Photo Hunt Challenge is to challenge ourselves and to take better photos; the voting for each category is just for fun.  In no way do I want these challenges to become a popularity contest of who can rack up the most votes, which is why I eliminated the Popular vote after Ph#1.   Please encourage your friends to look through all the photos and then vote on their favorites rather than asking them to vote for a particular person.  No prizes are awarded anyway , the purpose of voting is just to honor really great photography!
